Samoan Language Week

Faafetai ia i latou uma sa fesoasoani tele mai i le faamanatuina o le Gagana Samoa.  A huge thank you to all those who have been able to help celebrate the Samoan Language Week with us through story telling, reading Samoan texts, sharing experiences and Samoan artefacts, not to mention the lovely chop-suey to sum it all up.

Uefa (Mr Solia's mum) talked about the various use of the coconut tree and she has brought along some popular artefacts like the salu (broom), ili (fan), tautaliga and baskets which were made from different parts of the coconut tree.

This is the salu-lima (hand broom) - to sweep the floor

Just after the alaisa & sapasui lunch  -  Faafetai to Violeta and her sister Pule for making such a delicious sapasui - the kids just can't have enough of it - they kept coming back for more!!
